From Windrush to BLM, From WWII to EU Migrants

During Black History Month 2020, Black Heritage Walks Network joined Centrala  to bring the Black and the Central and Eastern European communities together through talking about our histories and struggles and how we made the UK our homes.

The event,  From Windrush to BLM, From WWII Migrants to EU was held at Centrala space and streamed live on Facebook. It showcased the similarities between the settlement of both communities in the UK and the heritage. The event also featured local artists and food. 

 

 

Freedom 50 Bangladesh Exhibition

Black Heritage Walks Network has joined a national initiative with individuals and organisations that have come together to form a collective to celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence.

 

The launch of Freedom 50 Outdoor Arts Exhibition took place on 22nd May at Birmingham REP and Library. The exhibition highlighted 50 years of Bangladesh using photos from Bangladesh and the UK.
