Dawn received an inaugural scholarship with the Society of Architectural Historians to lead on research on the structural barriers for practitioners in architectural history. The study involves the preservation of the Caribbean 'Front Room', which could serve as a community hub as a base for black practitioners to develop conservation skills and for Caribbean elders to reminisce. Dawn joined forces with the team at Pearl Support Network and Minds Eye Development, to use heritage as a vehicle to provide culturally sensitive support services for Black people living with vascular dementia.
She is very passionate about reducing the risk of long-term health conditions within minority communities. Her expertise enables her to develop user-led programmes, build community capacity, and deliver accessible interactive workshops for people of all ages and backgrounds.
