Prostate Cancer Champions

Prostate Cancer Champions

Black Heritage Walks Network team members Garry Stewart, Dr Basiru Gai, Angela Kumah and Dawn Carr trained as Prostate Cancer champions for national partner, Orchid Cancer. Orchid exists to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research and promoting awareness.

Orchid's flagship BME Champions programme, Overcoming the Barriers, aims to recruit and develop localised prostate cancer champions. The project work with locally trusted Black and minority champions to help cascade vital prostate cancer messages to those at high risk of this cancer and to ensure early intervention.
