The Network - NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

Black Heritage Walks Network CIC  has  always had a vision of being a network of black heritage walks across UK and now it’s finally happening!  We were delighted to deliver black heritage training to associates from Northampton, Wellingborough, Corby, & Luton!

The GEM (Global Ethnic Majority) Network represents Black, African, Asian, Brown, and dual-heritage University of Northampton staff members. The GEM Staff Network aims to celebrate the achievements of ethnically diverse Staff. Finding solutions to any disparities in their employment experience, career progression & representation.

We supported the GEM Network by delivering a two-day training program with local partners and historians from Northampton and surrounding areas. The aim was to develop a heritage walks and bus tour - 'Before Windrush and Beyond'

The tour will be part of a celebration presented by the Northampton Windrush Generation and Descendants UK in partnership with the GEM Network & The Centre for Historical Studies. There will be a walk and vintage bus tour, followed by an evening of presentations, including a special presentation by the Windrush Hone Office Engagement Team and performances by entertainer Victor Richards.
