Black heritage in Birmingham is so vast, its impossible to summarise it all on foot! Hence, we have teamed up with an alternative transport provider, VOI E-scooters, to develop an innovative tour using scooters and bikes.
This tour combines Birmingham's existing alternative transport network of bike lanes, canals and pedestrianised areas, linked to the rich historical heritage of the black community in Birmingham.
This flagship project demonstrates our commitment to promoting not just our walks but the wider network of cities tours, with our local partners such as the West Midlands Growth Company and Visit Britain. It has been funded by the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022, as part of a wider strategy to develop a stronger, resilient connected network of walks across the city.
