
In the year 1790 Olaudah Equiano visited Birmingham to promote his autobiography The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano, Or Gustavus Vassa, The African, which depicts the brutal regime of enslavement that he was forced to endure.
Olaudah Equiano, was also supported by The Lunar Society of Birmingham, because of their Quaker stance of humanity to fellow men, the irony is that it was their industries that also supported enslavement…….
